I knew that at our recent Engagement Party I wanted to try my hand at a few crafty D.I.Y Wedding and Engagement Party ideas I had seen and loved. This is the first post of | The Wedding Series | that will be featuring on Profound Feline as Mr W and I venture into the realms of wedding planning and all the fun and fear that accompanies.

Scrolling through picture perfect Pinterest photos for inspiration has kind of taken over my life of late as I start planning (and re-planning) my idea of our wedding day. Although, I am surrounded with inspiration via my Instagram and Facebook feeds, Pinterest boards, Etsy shops, and countless wedding blogs, websites and books - I have been left feeling a bit lost with wedding ideas......

 Do you find this too when you are focused on an all-consuming project?

Today, I am bringing you a simple yet effective (and delicious) D.I.Y Party Favour that could be ideal as an Engagement Party treat or Wedding Bonbomiere for your guests. It involves only a few items and can be easily be put together over a few hours with a little help (in my case, from my mum - thanks mum!).

To Make You Will Need:  (we made approximately x 80 popcorn treat bags)

• x 80 Clear lolly-bag style plastic bags (bought from Ebay).
• x 15 (150g) bags of Popcorn - and lots of it! (We purchased Johnny's Sweet & Salty Popcorn - allowing for roughly a cupful in each treat bag).
• x 15 metre roll of black and white twine for tying up the bags (purchased from Neds).
• x 80 'He Popped The Question & She Said YES!' tags (purchased from Ebay).

Bon Appetit - it's as simple as that!

I have to admit I am one of those people who have never tried any LUSH shampoo products - let alone their Solid Shampoo Bars. My perfect opportunity arose when I was contacted by LUSH about the release of new Solid Shampoo Bar varieties earlier in the year. After being sent some products to try I have had time to test and trial the NEW varieties and must admit - I am now a convert!

The NEW varieties have witty and fun names, always expected from LUSH! Including: 

Braziliant / Montalbano / Honey I Washed My Hair / Copperhead / Jason & The Argan Oil.

*Braziliant

Mane Carnival! 
Strengthen and condition hair with andiroba oil, a new ingredient we are using from the Brazilian rainforest, and lift your mood with sunny orange oil.

*Montalbano

Head of all heads!
Sicilian lemon oil, olives and rosemary make this the godfather of shampoos for shiny hair, while popping candy simulates mafia gunfire! A really citrusy shampoo bar to leave the hair squeaky clean.

*Honey I Washed My Hair

Beehive, honey! 
A honey shampoo made with our best-selling toffee sweet scent, for soft and shiny hair with a little lift. With 5% Fair Trade honey, hair is left really softened without being flattened and full of moisture. Comb, honey?

Perk up your hair!
Perk up your hair with this mild shampoo, ideal for coloured locks. With coffee and melted henna (caca rouge) for shine. Although it won’t actually colour your hair, it is a great choice for colour treated dark hair, conditioning it and bringing out the tones.

*Jason And the Argan Oil

Great hair is no myth!
On a quest for stronger, shinier, softer hair? Try this argan oil-packed, Rose Jam-scented bar. Ideal for those with lighter hair tones.

What I love the most about LUSH Solid Shampoo Bars is that you are left with beautiful smelling hair post shower BUT can enjoy the experience of heady aromas whilst lathering up in the shower too! Another feature that I find handy is the Shampoo Bars portability. Forget lugging around a huge shampoo container on your next holiday, or decanting shampoo into tiny bottles (that are often left half used in the cupboard upon return). 

It's a nifty idea I think - thanks LUSH! You can even purchase iddy-biddy metallic tins to house your Solid Shampoo Bars for transport or to help them stay in shape for longer. They retail at LUSH for only $4.95 and help reduce the need for extra packaging that can contribute to landfill.

THE VERDICT:

My favourite Solid Shampoo's were the Montalbano & Braziliant varieties for their citrus freshness and ability to thoroughly clean my grease prone fine hair. Also, the Jason and The Argan Oil bar provided a more gentle cleansing experience without stripping my hair of natural oils (thanks to the present Argan Oil). The final two - Honey I Washed My Hair & Copperhead are fantastic products on their own but could not compete with the aforementioned front-runners. I found Honey I Washed My Hair was just too gentle for my hair cleansing needs - leaving me with slightly limp locks. Whilst Copperhead is aimed at darker tresses it still worked okay but lacked the deliciously scented lure of the other bars.

| REVIEW | U Little Beauty | All Washed Up 'Kakadu Plum' Foaming Cleanser |

I am always on the hunt for new Australian brands to try and this brand ticks all the boxes! Recently, I met up with one of my best friends for a coffee catchup :) A time which usually turns into a fun show-and-tell session of recent beauty purchases and favourites. My friend introduced me to a cleanser she had recently bought and trialled, immediately my interest was sparked! It was offered to me to try as she preferred her original cleanser. Of course I jumped at the chance to try this product out for myself!

U Little Beauty is an Aussie owned and made product, that is organic, vegan friendly, recyclable and against animal testing. 

YES YES YES - tell me more you say?

 

All positive ticks on my checklist for a fantastic new product!

I did a bit of research on the product and visited U Little Beauty's website - which to my delight was very comprehensive, user friendly, and offered an in-depth breakdown surrounding their entire product range. I even found a few more products I would love to try. BUT enough rambling, let's get to the review  : )

U Little Beauty All Washed Up Foaming Cleanser

A single Kakadu Plum (the size of an olive) has the same amount of Vitamin C as 10 oranges. Kakadu Plum is a powerful antioxidant, rehydrates, protects, reduces the signs of ageing, and enhances skin radiance and clarity.

U Little Beauty:

"We’ve captured extracts of Witch Hazel, Rosemary and Calendula and bottled them up to create a soap and fragrance free formula for use at dawn and dusk."

Directions:

Lather and apply to clean, moist face and neck areas in the morning and night. Rinse thoroughly. Suitable for all skin types.

Verdict:

The U Little Beauty All Washed Up Kakadu Plum Foaming Cleanser is an all round pleasure to use on a daily basis. After rinsing the product from my skin it felt cleansed, yet not stripped off oil. My skin felt plump and I was left with a light plum fragrance lingering - which I enjoyed! I experienced no skin irritation and I feel it worked well within my daily skincare regime. The pump applicator created ease of use - another feature of this product to appreciate. My conscience was clear using this product! I love U Little Beauty's philosophy of cruelty- free and environmentally friendly skincare.

| LIFE UPDATE | We got ENGAGED! | What's Next? |

LIFE UPDATE! Mr W popped the question atop breathtaking cliff views over the Murray River on New Year's Eve & I said YES!

We are both MORE than excited & are already immersed with wedding planning!

You may have noticed that Profound Feline has been on temporary hiatus over the past months. Unfortunately, life just gets on top of us all at times, and this is what happened. 

The past few months have been a whirlwind of final crunch-time university study, Christmas parties, travel, Christmas, more travel, our engagement, New Year's Eve, family time, AND flying into 2015 has left little time to even take a deep breath. Here we are now almost into March and I find myself yet again saying

Where has the year gone?  

Mr W did an amazing job with the ring! It is a brilliant cut diamond and YES I do find myself distracted when light dances on the diamond (cliche, I know). It's just so darn beautiful!

WHAT'S NEXT? 

Wedding planning is in full swing for us here at Profound Feline HQ. Post engagement we were both left feeling a bit in shock as to what planning a wedding even entails. Gradually we are researching and asking for all the thoughts, ideas, and opinions from family & friends to set us in the right direction. I even popped into the stationary store Kikki-K to pick up one of their Wedding Planning Folders and a 2015 Time Planner Diary to make me at least feel more organised :)

This week we are off to the Barossa Valley to check out prospective wedding venues! Any excuse for a road-trip. There was even word of Putt-Putt golf whilst on our adventure.
