| LIFE UPDATE | We got ENGAGED! | What's Next? |

LIFE UPDATE! Mr W popped the question atop breathtaking cliff views over the Murray River on New Year's Eve & I said YES!

We are both MORE than excited & are already immersed with wedding planning!

You may have noticed that Profound Feline has been on temporary hiatus over the past months. Unfortunately, life just gets on top of us all at times, and this is what happened.

The past few months have been a whirlwind of final crunch-time university study, Christmas parties, travel, Christmas, more travel, our engagement, New Year's Eve, family time, AND flying into 2015 has left little time to even take a deep breath. Here we are now almost into March and I find myself yet again saying

Where has the year gone?

Mr W did an amazing job with the ring! It is a brilliant cut diamond and YES I do find myself distracted when light dances on the diamond (cliche, I know). It's just so darn beautiful!

WHAT'S NEXT?

Wedding planning is in full swing for us here at Profound Feline HQ. Post engagement we were both left feeling a bit in shock as to what planning a wedding even entails. Gradually we are researching and asking for all the thoughts, ideas, and opinions from family & friends to set us in the right direction. I even popped into the stationary store Kikki-K to pick up one of their Wedding Planning Folders and a 2015 Time Planner Diary to make me at least feel more organised :)

This week we are off to the Barossa Valley to check out prospective wedding venues! Any excuse for a road-trip. There was even word of Putt-Putt golf whilst on our adventure.

Would you like to hear more about the wedding planning process as we approach our nuptials in 2016?

In celebration of LOVE and ROMANCE we are hosting a beautiful giveaway from Urban Rituelle on Profound Feline in the coming week!

Stay tuned to Profound Feline & our Twitter / Facebook / & Instagram pages for more information coming soon. I'm very happy to be back with you and can honestly say there is so much fantastic content to bring you on Profound Feline this year!

What's your best tip/tips for planning a wedding?

| Weekend Wanderings | Benefit Brow Bar Opens at MYER Adelaide City | The Body Shop Haul | LUSH Easter Treats | Tasty Eats | NOTD |

Weekend Wanderings around Adelaide City. This past weekend my brother was a guest of Mr W and I. Did I tell you Mr W and I now live together? :D Whilst my brother was staying we decided to make the most of our time with shopping / eating / drinking coffee / repeat.

The NEW MYER Adelaide City Beauty Hall was my first point of call. The Benefit Brow Bar had opened a day previous and I was eager to check it out!
Isn't it just gorgeous?

I took part in the BENEFIT #MascaraSwap. Bring in an old mascara to donate, get a cute sample of the Benefit They're REAL Mascara. I also received a beauty makeover by the lovely Sam and sample size of Benefit's POREfessional Primer as I have wanted to see how it works for my skin.

Have you visited the NEW MYER Beauty Hall?

Recently I have been researching facial cleansing oils and even asked your opinion on Instagram (find me via @profound_feline). I received some fantastic recommendations, such as Dr Lewinn's range & The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. Thank you! Therefore, whilst looking in The Body Shop I decided to purchase the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil along with a delicate muslin cloth. After a weeks use, I am impressed. I will provide a full review after a months trial :)

Have you tried Cleansing Oils? If so, do you have a favourite?

Did you know The Body Shop now stock 750ml Shower Gels?! At $19.95 AUD this is a great bargain in comparison to the standard $12.95 AUD for 250ml. I am wanting to buy a BIG bottle of the Satsuma Shower Gel, but they never seem to have it in stock.

Not popular, OR too popular?

In my forever occurring visits to LUSH I spotted the NEW Easter goodies released to tempt my lush fancies. The sweet little 'Easter Bunny Bubble Bars' smelt beautiful. The 'Carrot Soap' was an equally eye-catching idea. I love anything orange!

I resisted the temptation to purchase. Instead I slathered my hands in 'Dream Cream Body Lotion' and helped my brother make a purchase. Good sister. He picked up the Limited Edition LUSH 'Freeze Shower Gel'. Freeze is made with peppermint, but you also notice scents of orange, bergamot, & soothing aloe and refreshing sea salt.

My brother and I enjoyed the MOST delicious lunch, brunch & coffee together over the weekend!

Pan seared Atlantic salmon on a bed of snow pea & broccolinni with crispy Asian noodles & miso dressing. Royal Eggs Benedit - Smoked Salmon with Asparagus & Hollandaise Sauce. A Hudson's Marble Mocha, that's white chocolate and coffee. A sweet treat, no need to add sugar! :) They were just as tasty as they look in pictures.

The weather had been gloomy ALL week, the weekend came along and the sun was out! I opted for 'Peppermint Cream' from the NEW ELES Brighton Collection. Love the minty green pop of colour, it makes me happy! A FULL review of the 12 polish ELES Brighton Collection will be LIVE on Profound Feline in coming weeks. It is a beautiful collection.

Easter time is all about hope, love, and happy living. Happy Easter to you and your family! I hope you are having a safe and chocolate bunny filled Easter :)

I would love to hear about your Weekend Wanderings.

| Welcome to 2014! |

Hi everyone,

Welcome to 2014!!!!! The past few weeks have just flown for me! How about you? I feel like I am still back in Christmas. How are we halfway through January ALREADY (seriously?!). Therefore, I thought a quick catchup was in order. They do say, a picture tells a thousand words :) so here is a pictorial overview of the last few weeks. Christmas, New Years Eve, and all that runs between.

  • The first few photographs capture the Christmas table this year. Abundant, enjoyable and very thankful for the special time with my family. Mr W's Gran was so kind to make my family a gorgeous Christmas Cake which served as our table centrepiece!
  • My brother and I made a giant jug of PIMMS cocktails with fruit.
  • I got a singing and dancing GIZMO from Mr W for Christmas love love love!
  • Ate too many Fruit Loops (childhood favourite) and played LEGO Lord of the Rings on PS2.
  • Fireworks in Adelaide on New Year's Eve.
  • Made Lemon Melting Moments Cookies.
  • Road trip to my parents for a week of fresh country air with Mr W. Travelled across the Murray River on a ferry. A delicious lunch at Renmark on the riverfront of the Murray River.
  • Visited a friends Apple Orchard for an afternoon of catchups with my high school girlfriends. So much fun reminiscing, sharing food, and laughing together!

If you would like to keep in touch, you can find me on Instagram @profound_feline

How did you celebrate your Christmas & New Years?

I hope you are all having a beautiful start to the year & week :)

Stay tuned this week for a HUGE post Christmas LUSH HAUL!

| Birthday Week | Part 1 | Road-trip & Murray Sunset Country National Park |

Hi everyone,

LIFE UPDATE! It was my BIRTHDAY last week on August 1st (the horse's birthday) I really wanted to share with you the fun I got up to in my week-long celebrations! This is Part 1 of 4. Hope you like it!

A road-trip to the Riverland (where I was born & my family still resides) was organised over a 4 day long weekend with Mr W! It's not often we both get to spend time with my family in the country, so it was a special treat to relax and recharge together. Taking in the fresh country air....inhale....exhale.... :)

Our trip to the Riverland takes about 2.5-3 hours from Adelaide, so I like to take time for little breaks along the way. We stopped at the sleepy town of Truro as it has one of the BEST country bakeries in my opinion. We got there just at the right time, a newly stocked oven of yummy pastries were waiting for us to devour.

Here's what we got! I chose the traditional Steak & Mushroom Pie / Chocolate Donut & Iced Coffee whilst Mr W picked out a tasty Chicken & Vegetable Pie / Sprinkle Donut & Lemonade. Perfect!

Mr W and I also stopped at our favourite lookout over the beautiful Murray River near Blanchetown. The cliffs were a stunning orange on the day, and so high that you are eye-level with the eagles soaring along the cliffs. The views were so beautiful, we took a good 20 minutes soaking up the sun and beauty.

On the Sunday my family and I decided to venture to the outback, Murray Sunset National Park, just over the Victorian border. It is one of the few remaining semi-arid regions in the world where the environment is relatively untouched. Murray Sunset National Park is Victoria's second largest national park, covering almost 1 million hectares! WOW!

The 4WD was fully laden with supplies, as you have to prepare for anything in the isolated outback. We found a beautiful spot to stop for lunch, sandwiches, and sausages in bread. So much fun cooking on the fire!

Then it was time for the sweeties!

Mum made her famous Vanilla Slice. Can you spot the sneaky fly in the picture? It wouldn't be the outback without flies.

I made Jam Drop Biscuits using Blackberry and Apricot Jam as well as a few macadamia ones.
These went down a treat!

Gumtrees swaying in the breeze.

It was so peaceful and quiet, all you could hear was the wind in the trees. Serene.

We found a little enclosure made to protect an endangered marsupial.

I wore my Grandpa's 50 year old Akubra. Grandpa would be so proud.

Montage of a perfect day spent with my loved ones.

Thanks for sharing in my Birthday Week Part 1 post!

What are your favourite places to visit that help recharge your batteries?

I would love to know :)

Take care,

x.k

Home is where the ♥ is

Hi everyone,

Today's post is a change from the normal. I just wanted to pop in and say hello :) I haven't forgot about you, and yes, I am still here. Due to a recent bereavement I have taken some time to be with my family & heal. I hope you are all well and smiling :)

Expect to see a back log of posts coming up within the next few days, including my 'October Favourites' & 'High Tea, Take Two', a review of my second High Tea experience at the Stamford Grand. If you like, check them out, and as always I would love to hear from you!

A bright starry night sky, great stretching open roads, burnt orange sunsets, bushy Australian Gumtree landscapes, and my family are just a few of my favourite things about spending time at my childhood home in the rural countryside. Here are a few pictures I recently snapped of the countryside I love so much.

Maybe these pictures will inspire you to see the beauty in your surroundings. Have a beautiful week!
