| Autumn in Hahndorf |

Hi everyone,

A few weekends ago I ventured on a road trip with Mr W and his family to a sleepy town nestled in the Adelaide Hills named Hahndorf. We had organised a lunch date in Hanhndorf that day for Mr W's sister, who was celebrating her birthday.

Hahndorf is a beautiful little town with its pretty, tree-lined street, and is the oldest non-British settlement in South Australia. The main street is filled with restaurants, cafes, lolly shops, ice creameries, as well as other quirky places like the German Cake shop (which we visited) with walls covered with cuckoo clocks and painted plates. Unique & fascinating to discover, Hahndorf is the little gem of the Adelaide Hills.

Hahndorf is heavenly in autumn & winter. Crisp cool air and a surprisingly busy hustle & bustle comes to the town on the weekends with the influx of tourists and city escapees (like me). I always associate a cosy feeling when I visit Hahndorf in the cooler months. It's a time to put of your warm winter jacket, scarf, boots, and do some exploring.

Hahndorf's timeworn buildings tell the story of past to present

The Hahndorf Candle Barn had some of the most fragrant candles I have encountered to date. My favourite, was the 'Freshly Brewed Coffee' candle. Obviously.

The ever so quaint Hahndorf main street, perfect with autumn leaves

                                    Bunnies! Need I say more?

So many fudge varieties to choose from

Sweeties!
What are your favourites?

The German Cake Shop

Beautiful antiques from all over the world

Time for cake, German Apple Cake

Afternoon cappuccino pick me up, it was perfect!

  2. Hi Kaytlynz, :)

Thanks for your comment & kind words! How beautiful is Hahndorf in the cooler months, right?! I'm definitely going back again very soon, there's so much to see!

The Candle Barn is next to the German Cuckoo Clock Shop just off the path about 20m. I nearly missed it too! I think I will make a candle purchase next time :D

    Keep in touch!
